Software Ver:          0.82                                                              Date : late Oct /Nov 2019

K9 Controller:         PCB ver 1.60 only

Internal Release:   Ver 0.79 – 0.81

Beta Release :         Test at Ver 0.81

============================================================================

1.0  – Overview Ver 0.82

Software Version 0.82 is the combination of internal release code 0.79-0.81 and
beta release 0.81

2.0 –  0.79 notes

  1. Add 20 min program timeout symbol to gates to notify users when the gates will not accept a program update – requires ver 0.94 on type1 gates – add notification to menu when time has happened and to do a power restart on gates to reset the 20 min timer
  2. Add Countdown timeleft counter / timer which allows a notification when a remaining time for a countdown to expire
  3. Add Countdown Timeleft horn trigger
  4. Add new 6 horn sounds menu group  for countdowns and update existing countdown sounds
  5. Add main support for Type2 gates and features sets

2.1.   Updates to existing features

  1. remove duplicate sound file 17 and replace with new sound “GO”
  2. add multi count checking to battery low shutdown for power checks
  3. add scan time for adding / configure gates , – required when more than 4 gate in use
  4. fix rotation display of sensor group information , which can stop on one section on occasions
  5. extend key repeat of manual stop/start key only as a heavy handed user can tend hold down key longer than the current key scan time resulting in start/stop repeat occurring – Note holding the key down for long duration  will still trigger the key repeat , to stop this the user must not hold down the key greater than 2 sec – manual key start is rare usage – low priority fix
  6. Factory default time /date setting is applied after a restart on occasions – code changed to stop this happening
  7. remove “enter “ key from some most edit menus for saving the settings , as setting saved when leaving menu

  3.0  – 0.80 code change notes

  1.   Add new SCT and MCT features , include MCT horn and SCT calculation to
distance menus and speed math  used in dog agility and general horse events for
MCT , MCT stop timer when triggered, with display notice “MCT TIMEOUT’
  2. Add new Special horns for count up and count down – independent of any other gate triggers – used for dog agility and or separate timer horns
  3. add new “long horns”sounds 35-42 that can sound upto 8 sec duration
  4. add new feature for “Long horns “ 35-42 can set by the time duration setting from 1sec – 8 secs , Note: all other horns run for the sound duration not the time duration setting ,where if time setting is longer  than the  sound file then the sound will repeat
  5.  2 sec Horn sounds that have a repeated tone in them , have had an extra 1 sec added , as some users have noted the 2sec sound horns commonly used were a little short
  6.  Major code consolidation to recover space for expansion of future feature
  7.   Restart Key option change/ added feature
    1. The Restart Key option has changed from prev 0.78 revision which had “ NO Restart Key opt-on/off , to just Restart Key Y/N , So now if the Restart Key opt is Yes , it allow it to work , where as previously if it was on , the feature was off
    2. The restart Key option when active had a 15 sec period to allow user to push the restart key to continue timer , this has now been reduced to 10 sec – as the 15sec was reported to be too long a time .
    3. The restart key feature when in use on multi pass/ count gates to stop the timer , would not adjust the count if it was a false trigger , this is now corrected to adjust the count on the gate minus one , when the restart key is pressed .
    4. The start /stop key when pressed in multi pass stop on gates is active , will not remove a count on the stop gate as it can not be a gate trigger action
    5. With Restart key Opt on   , manually pushing start /stop key  will stop the timer and wait for  the restart key or press stop key again  (no  10 sec timeout on the restart key press

 4.0    0.81 Code change Notes

  1. Add new Horn selection feature
    •   The new feature allow for an individual horn sound and time duration.Burst, delay  time to apply to the electrical horn are applied to each trigger event, Such as  overtime, countdown, timeleft , countdown timeleft , special horns , in total 15  horn trigger events
    • Edit of the horn sound is done by pushing the key for the trigger required , then key8 to edit the horn sound for that trigger
    • The trigger need not be on/off to allow edit , only that the key for that trigger followed by key8 be pressed
    • Added feature – Master Horn selection in setup section  -This feature can apply one horn sound and duration to all horns without the need to each trigger horn  be set ,  if they have been changed , the default horn is sound1 and has 2 sec duration , 1 burst 0 delay as base setting for electrical horn
  2.   Added feature/code change – Gate and time triggers
    • The gate and time triggers have been updated to allow countdown time left options and update of gate trigger code which updates features when gates are triggered.
  3.   Add Feature – “go” key  allows for a new  horn sound played separate to that of       the   horn key – the “enter “key is used when in the main timer to play the “go “ sound , any sound can be assigned to the key , but the “ go “ sound is default ( is not changed by the master horn applied selection )
  4. Add Feature – Dog agility and Sub events- Snooker, Gamblers, Blackjack            The new events and sub events have a new 2 page edit/ review of the features are common to the events , which allows for the most common changes to be done and seen.   This major change also sets defaults specific to these events which should reduce other setting needed to be changed
  •  All the above events require 2 gates as default where gate1 is start / gate2 is stop
  • Each gate s/n is shown to allow user to check which is gate1 or 2
  • All features that not editable within the dog agility edit pages are available via option 4” adv Edit”
  • Gamblers event has additional menus
    1. Points horn time
    2. Gamble horn time

The above are set by pushing “ event horn setup “ when in gamblers event , The               points horn and the gamble horn time combined set the event duration , gamble           point  expire = timeleft starts horn ,gamble time horn expire  overtime start horn

4.1  Testing of beta 0.81 fixes with more added features

  1. MCT horn / time
    • Added feature – stop timer when MCT horn triggered
    • MCT horn time was not set at power up – corrected
    • Add feature “MCT Timeout” shown on display when active
  2. New Stop key option y/n – has been added resulting in a change on how the restart key option interacts with the timer and restart key option
    • With Restart key Opt (Y) AND Stop key Opt (N) – with  timer running
      1. A gate triggering stop
        • the timer will stop time and allow restart key timeout period of 8sec , which after expired will stop the timer , Pushing the  start /stop key  during the restart key timeout period will stop the timer , with no restart possible . pushing restart key prior to timeout  allows time to continue , as if timer was not stop
      2. A Handswitch Stop
        • when B button push will act as stop function ,which will stop time and allow restart key timeout period, act the same as if gate triggered stop
      3. A stop key triggered stop ,
        • will stop the timer , with no restart key option after
    • With Restart key Opt (Y) AND Stop key Opt (Y) – with  timer running
        • when B button push will act as stop function ,which will stop time and restart key timeout period WILL NOT TIMEOUT, waiting for a further stop key or restart key.
          •  Pushing  B button while the timer is in restart timeout period will stop the timer , no further restart is possible
          • Pushing A button while the timer is in restart timeout period will restart the timer FROM TIME SHOWN ON DISPLAY
      3. A Stop Key triggered stop
        •  When stop key is pressed will stop time and restart key timeout period WILL NOT TIMEOUT, waiting for a further stop key press or restart key press
          •  Pushing  B button while the timer is in restart timeout period will stop the timer , no further restart is possible
          • Pushing A button while the timer is in restart timeout period will restart the timer FROM TIME SHOWN ON DISPLAY
  3. SP UP Horn / time
    • Fix/change minute default read load value error
    • Add /Change zero entry error notice information checks
  4. .LAP MAXTIME HORN / MAX OVERTIME TIME HORN
    1. A new feature horn is added for event use
      •  The horn when selected and time set , will trigger when it matches   the time shown by laps time when using Laps event ,  it allows for a horn sound when max time for a lap time occurs
      • The horn when selected  and time set , will trigger when it matches the time shown by overtime clock in a non lap event it allows for a horn at max time for overtime time , this is different  from MCT horn which is the max time of the total duration of event .
  1. Gamblers time calculation – settings reloaded after power cycle fix
  2. Gate trigger Options changes to
    • Allow autooff and autoalloff when a countdown set  and doing add or clear time option when  gate is triggered

6.0  Prev Records – all events

6.1 General Overview

A redesign of the records structure and changes to the displayed pages within the records have been made.

To support a design change to remove  all  use of DAY values in timing structures was done as it is not required for the events supported by the device and as such the Prev Records need to be changed in both its structure and reporting and saved document pages

The removal of average , fastest , slowest speed , in base structure of reporting lap and non lap  events was made due to non use of the feature and general feedback received for ver 0.78.

After consultation with several groups a new structure supporting only the times for each event was done , with additional support for the SPLIT TIMES and subsplit times

Also included are new indicators for each record if they have split times and penalty times as well as fail trial

The record system allows for all combinations of each base record and sub records

The new system allows for a 512 records per event , with warning system when getting full –   The system used to supported 1024 records per event in 0.78 , however now due to the new events included this was changed.

7.0  DAY Timing  Removed

All timing in All events and settings  has now removed the DAY setting

This has been done based on feedback and that no event supported with the possible exception of laps would ever need a day time setting requirement

As such the input setting for the device have removed the day input setting

Hours supported by records and event has a max of 23 hours 59min 59sec,99 1/100th

7.1  1/100th setting removed

All timing input setting for Overtime,  Timeleft, Countdown, Countdown timeleft, Presets , have had the 1/100th input value removed  as the this setting was not used and allowed for code reduction  for the above time input setting

The 1/10th+ /-  option now shown for the above time inputs is not used

The Penalty menu allows for 1/10th + /- input only and uses the same display menu and is active for adding 1/10 +/- penalty time values

8.0  Day hours setting option removed

As a result of the removal of days support , the menu that allowed for mins only , hours only has been removed – this was done because it was unused and it removal required because of the days setting effecting how the overall would be displayed

A Seconds only time display option is being reviewed in a future release if it of value.

9.0 User Reference Manual Update

As a result  of the ver 0.82 changes ,the URM  will be updated in the coming months to reflect the above changes  and give details on their use
