LEGAL NOTICE

All contents of this  document, firmware updates / software updates referred to and works generated are the property of SMW Electronics Pty Ltd.

All information contained in this document and includes this agreement document  is proprietary  and any information generated either as an opinion or review, that is based in part or in full  resulted  from software updates implementation  is not to be released to any 3rd party , online chat or messaging methods  , videos and text based messaging , included in any testimonials or any written or referred information without specific written  permission and approval from SMW Electronics Pty Ltd.  Doing so  will be a breach of the conditions outlined within this software update  agreement and will be subject to  legal action being taken.

All technical information in this document is subject to change, and any software  release which includes any design information may have other features and requirements not outlined within this  document implemented.  

Further, SMW Electronics  gives no warranties or further extends existing warranties or  guaranties by installing  of firmware updates to equipment , including and not limited to the performance outcomes on the equipment  of any software updates being applied to equipment. 

SMW Electronics Pty Ltd offers the majority of  software updates for K9 system  free of charge , but reserves the right to charge for specific releases  and or custom  firmware updates which a user or group has requested .

The software updates Implementation costs, including the labour of implementing , handling ,repacking and notification of assisting shipping of equipment that software updates are applied to and or how SMW Electronics so decides the best method of updates maybe applied is at the discretion of SMW Electronics .

Any software update implementation shall be given  an estimated cost for the work to the user or group in writing within this document prior to the commencement of the software update being done and if the user / group decides to have any other backward or other firmware release , a fee for this service may be applied.

Firmware updates are released “AS IS” with features / fixes and or changes without warranty or commitment to resolve or improve stated outcome of effect on the equipment.

SMW Electronics may allow for firmware updates to be beta released for testing purposes for a period of time determined  by SMW Electronics and ANY person or group so nominated to receive such updates are also under the conditions stated by the terms outlined  on this agreement, and  have  no expectation that a release will be the same as tested, nor will such a release be considered final .

SMW Electronics reserves the right  do updates and release information at time frames at its  discretion and to withhold service or software updates when it believes  the user and or group has infringed upon the terms of this agreement .

The loss of existing configuration and times stored  is expected when a update is applied,  and is the responsibility  of the user or group to set the unit up for use when returned. 

All freight and or  customs/ inspection / storage cost where the equipment may require to be sent and returned to implement a software update  is at the end user cost.      

1.0 The  cost for  Firmware release 0.86 ( PCB v1.0x) / 1.01 (PCB v2.0x) for the K9-GTS system  to person or group stated on this document is NO CHARGE for firmware implantation for  equipment that has been sold directly to end user by SMW Electronics and only  equipment that is within the current 12 month warranty  sale  period from 1st july 2023 – 1st July 2024 . The user will pay for the sending equipment ONLY. The return  Freight cost of equipment is paid by SMW Electronics ( Australia only)   

2.0    The cost of firmware implementation  and handing fee for all others not covered by section 1.0  , then this  user or  group for this update is given the  estimated cost of  $120 aud  and user to pay for the freight to and from the service location after the update is done 

3.0     I as the user or person representing the group who use/own the equipment wishing to have the software update applied ,have read  and understand and agree to the terms and conditions stated within this document

1.0    Ver 0.86 / Ver 1.01 Overview  Notes

This release of software for the K9 Controller is for

  1. V0,86 is for k9 Controller fitted with V1.0x PCB 
  2. V1.01 is for K9 Controller Fitted with V2.0x PCB

 To work out which PCB is fitted to the controller refer to main menu option 3 – option 1 – Revision info

  • Bug fixes  in v0.85/ v1.00  and to add new features to the product.
  • Added Support for events Barrel Racing , Team Penning  with Cattle Number option , with update to Scoreboard   v2.03 to show cattle number use for Team Penning Event  
  • PCB V2.00 ,SW V1.00 added  hardware support of a new keyboard V2.00 , and also supports the original  version of the keyboard , Keyboard V2.00  has additional short cut keys on it to support features in events  and replaces the Power Switch from the rocker switch used on the original keyboard.
  • Update User Reference Manual to Ver1.00

Bug Fixes done in V0.86 for PCB V1.0x / V1.01 for PCB V2.0x

  1. Change Code so that when records view returns to main display , does not force beams on condition
  2. Fix code in Power & speed Event , with  countdown  added,  and set with continue option ,  when reaching zero, with gate 1 triggered to clear the remaining countdown  and start – appears to start timer but no main display
  3. Fix code in power and speed Event , with countdown added and  set to stop at zero , gate1 set active for time trigger when countdown reaches zero active , the autobeam off or autobeam off all  is set , but requires gates to be triggered 2 times to make autobeam to turn off

Note: to fix item 2, 3 and wanting to do the countdown  settings  on Speed & power event with gate 1 trigger clear countdown time when using v0.85 / V1.00 goto advanced edit option in menu , select overtime option , select as on , and clear the time to zero , set any horns required based on gates or time settings , not on overtime  , autobeam issue is not resolved by this workaround

  • Fix code for menus in Agility events, Power  and Speed , Show Jumping events , so when going to advanced menu option , the countdown menu / countdown left option is  selecting  the last edited option in countdown /countdown left option , this now allows correct selection of the option each time

 Added Events / Features in V0.86 for PCB V1.0x / V1.01 for PCB V2.0x

  1. Added Barrel Racing Event with 1 gate standard defaults , allows for multi split gates
  2. Added Team Penning Event , with support of Cattle number selection
    1. using either Auto random selection or manual selection for next cattle number
    1. Selection of cattle number range selection option
    1. Event Record shows Selected Cattle number with the time
    1. Live Record to terminal shows Selected Cattle Number for the timed event
    1. Option to Clear cattle numbers used
    1. Support Cattle Number Quick key – PCB V2.0x with Keyboard V2.0
    1. Added Cattle Number info for Scoreboard V2.03 firmware
  3. Support Keyboard V2.0 shortcut keys with PCB V2.0x
    1. Add support for Show Jumping Events  short cut keys adding Time Faults , Points Faults

Update to User Reference Manual to Ver 1.00

The URM is updated to Ver 1.00 and has had updates to the following areas

  1. Type 1 TX  Gates PCB Ver 2.0x  – uses momentary switch for POWER on/off/TX Mode select , there is 3 Tx power modes of low/med/high , Manual shows the changes in power use and other details for the new PCB v2.0x
  2. K9 Controller PCB V2.0x update shows
    1. new reset switch and access
    1. New Keyboard V2.0 Layout and features
  3. Type 1 and Type 2 when terminal connected – power up test information
  4. Power and Speed Event update on information in the manual
  5. Show Jumping events update on information in manual include shortcut keys for points fault and time faults keyboard V2.0
  6. Update Barrel Racing event information
  7. Add /update Team Penning information , including Cattle number  key info in records / LIVE records  
  8. Add short cut key info for Countdown key ,  Race/go in keyboard layout / event use
  9. Update countdown menu fail trial key to go key use   for cont/stp option
